During our meeting on 3/3, the Committee on Government Regulations voted unanimously to amend Chapter 18 Public Shade Trees. Proposed changes were made in consultation with the chair of the Conservation Committee and were voted by the Conservation Committee. Specific changes include:
- Section 4(b)(3): Citing the jurisdiction given to the Conservation Commission under Mass General Law; and
- Section 6(a): Altering the composition of the Permanent Street Tree Committee from five to seven members, removing the appointment of the Design Review Committee, and increasing the number of at-large appointments made by the select board from one to four (please refer to amended bylaw to review changes to the terms of appointment).
