During our meeting on 3/3, the Committee on Government Regulations voted unanimously to amend Chapter 5 Administrative Organization. The amendments include the following:
- The residency requirement for the Town Clerk and Constables was eliminated;
- The Town Clerk's appointment term of one year was removed so that the term of office may be longer;
- The Town Clerk may now distribute electronic copies of the Home Rule Charter, Bylaws, Zoning Bylaws, and all other rules and regulations, free of charge;
- The title of the Town Treasurer was updated to "Treasurer / Collector," as it appears on the job title;
- The timing of appointment of the Town Engineer may now occur at any time of year; and
- An active tense was used for the appointments of Constables and Commissioners of Trust Funds.
